We have lived in our penthouse condo in North Vancouver for eleven years. For about seven of those years we have had leaks, some of them small, many of them not so small.

Contractors were hired to solve the problems but the leaks continued. No sooner would one spot be fixed than another would take its plate.Fed up and frustrated, we talked many times about leaving, but the gorgeous city and mountain views have continued to imprison us. 2008, 2009 and 2010 were bad years. Water seeped in to our living room (again) from the terrace (which doubles as the roof of our neighbour underneath) and ruined carpeting, electrical ftttings, walls, and tempers.

More than four weeks ago, our strata council hired JDP Construction Ltd. to solve our water problems. We cannot speak highly enough of JDP. Joseph Tolzmann and his crew are amazing. They are perfectionists. Once begun, they worked every day, including a weekend. We enjoyed watching them tear out the old and bring in the new. They re-membraned absolutely everything, the terrace, the many slider windows, and the exterior walls, communicating with us every step of the way. They redesigned and replaced drains, electrical wiring and fittings, everything. They even repainted interior window sills, frames, and walls.

Our condo is now safer than Fort Knox. We defy winter's nor-easters to do their worst as we relax inside, secure in the knowledge that we finally live in a waterproof condo. We have no hesitation in recommending JDP to anyone planning building or renovations.

We had been plagued by a small leak in our house since we bought it. Over the years, we had had several contractors attempt to correct the problem, to no avail. I found JDP through the internet. I could tell from their site that they had expertise in that area, but it was the testimonials by other very satisfied customers that convinced me to contact them.

I really can't praise JDP enough. They came precisely when they said they would arrive, their work was of high professional standards and completed on time. "For several years our strata council had been trying to prevent water leaks on the south side of our building. We had employed several contractors and spent thousands of dollars, but the leaks continued. Finally we found JDP Construction Ltd. and soon our problem was solved.

Joe at JDP did a complete and accurate assessment of the situation, which he explained in a way that everyone could understand. Then he undertook the work, one step at a time, keeping us informed on a daily basis in writing and with digital photos.

The restoration project took several weeks, but the owners supported what JDP was doing, because of his clear and accurate communications. We could really understand the problem and appreciate the high quality of the work that finally was being done to fix it. JDP even did the little things such as clean up and assisting individual owners, carefully and cheerfully.

"JDP Construction Ltd. was recommended to my wife and me by a friend who happened to be a retired contractor. Initially, we hired Joe to design and install two new fireplaces after we were disappointed by the designs presented by another contractor.

We were so pleased with the work Joe and his crew did on the fireplaces that we ended up employing them to complete a wide range of renovations and repairs.
